Duplicate Texting Noise

please lead me to the thread if this is a known issue, but ever since 2.1 I sometimes get a text (with a sound) then 5m later i will hear another sound (or vibrate actually) so i will go look to see the new text, and then i discover there is no new texts. this happens at least once a day........any help?

I dont think its a problem with your phone... a new feature in 2.1 is an extended message reminder so if you have a message that is unread it will vibrate up to 2 more times to remind you. It happens to me a lot to actually

If a short message comes up that you can fully read without actually opening up the conversation it still counts it as an unread message, therefore, it will continue to remind(vibrate) until you actually open the message thread

wow...i never knew that haha, so i guess it depends on how you look at it...either very convenient or very annoying cuz it tricks me.
