Duplicated documents

I have had my desktop and documents folder synched with iCloud for a couple of years now. I have my high-frequency files arranged in tags for quick access on finder. Starting a few days ago, I have noticed that, when I click on a tag, documents appear duplicated: one of them is on the documents folder on iCloud Drive and the other one is in my local storage documents folder. Has this happened to anyone? What could I do to fix this? Just delete the local documents folder to avoid duplicates? 🫤
