Basically, the goal is to get rid of all your cards in a series of turns. Attack strategically and defend against attacks with higher cards of the same suite or trump cards.

Durak is getting a lot of fans in the U.S store. 5 stars! First page in the card section!

Has anyone on MacRumors given it a try yet? Promo codes went fast

I played the game for some hours and I can say the graphics are very nice and the gameplay is very interesting indeed. The game isn't boring at all.

I'm glad you like it. We need more love in the US store I think its just a matter of being exposed to the game. Everyone seems to LOVE it.

We just submitted a new update to Apple

- More difficult gameplay
- Smaller file size
- General improvements

Just saw an ad for this over on another web site. I am seriously thinking about taking the plunge, I have never even heard of the card game, but it looks so polished, and I always like learning a new card game. I tried to read somewhere about the game, and I am confused still. Does this version come with instructions for newbies?

Owner of the Durak app, here. I downloaded it some time ago, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. To answer your question, I installed it, and I can confirm that it has a very good "Tutorial" in the home page.

It's also multi-player, which is a fantastic idea with the "foreign" games like Mancala, etc. You can learn better by playing it with others.

Durak means idiot (fool) in Russian, so I'm guessing there's an Ace card which plays a significant role in winning. ;)

(I also have many of the Italian card games, like Scopa)

If the devs are reading this, please do something about that app icon. Not the best I've seen...

Hello I am the dev of Durak

We have a comprehensive tutorial that really does a great job explaining the game I think. It takes you step by step and lets you learn by doing.

About the icon - any suggestions on a revision? What does everyone else think?

Thanks for the feedback and support

I just knew you were on here, that's why I posted that opinion. It may just be me, but I sometimes buy apps because I like their icons. Weird, I know. Elegant colours, creativity, and above all, uniqueness are important.

Here's a secret about your mostly English-speaking target audience: even at the height of the Cold War, we really liked to see the Cyrillic alphabet. It's hard to describe, but that "wrong-sided" R (your "Ya") is very cool.

Try to capture some of that coolness in your icon, maybe with a demi-circle effect. You know, ДYRAK on top, and DUЯAK on the bottom. And one card is enough.

Your Russian purchasers may scoff, but I fancy, others may like it. Make it menacing! "It's a great game, but only the tough need apply".

Anyway, thanks for listening, and good luck!

Some great suggestions - we will have to try some out.

Version 1.2 was just approved and is now available in the iTunes App Store.

We are also running a twitter promo code contest. Make a post on any iphone forum and @reply @losttoken with a link to win

Had this game the day it came out.
I think its one of the best card game apps out there.
Very easy to learn but takes time to master.
Graphics and UI are amazing.

Great job devs !
