Dust on New MBP Screen

Guys, I was the proud owner of a 2nd gen MBP (C2d) until I noticed some lcd problems. Apple was kind enough to replace this laptop with a 3rd gen MBP. When I brought the computer home, I went nuts because I thought I had a dead pixel on the screen. It's in a bad spot too, right next to the apple sign on the top left.
I have high powered magnifying lenses (10x) at work though and I'm noticing that it's a diagonal speck of dust that's on top of the pixels that makes it look like a dead pixel. The pixels behind it actually work. Is there a solution to this? I don't think you can just remove the glass between the lcd and remove the dust can you?

Problem fixed. I placed the computer on its side and gently started tapping the monitor with my nail. Gravity did the rest and now I have a perfect MBP; no yellow tint, no dead pixels, I'm ecstatic.

That is a fantastic observation, and a slick fix. I think I'd go batty starring at what I thought was a dead pixel. This might be something for all of the posters of 'dead' pixels to check, it actually might just be a small bit of dust.

Glad it worked out for you. Unfortunately tapping doesn't work for the cat hair I've got behind my screen, working its way in from the edge!

my solution, honestly, is to shut up and worry about important things. you must have other problems in your life? real problems with relationships or work or school.

1 dead pixel never hurt anyone
