When I clean the screen and look carefully esp under light I can see a few small dust particles under the screen at least 10 or so. They are very small and are not noticable when the screen is on for the most part. I can see a small one when I have a white background but it is very small. I assume since the screen is so big and due to mass production in China this is common. SHould I have Apple swap it out or will I most likely find this in others?

Almost every iPhone I have ever had or seen has had this too.

Right - pretty much all my iPhones had this issue.

I was hoping to never see it on the iPad though. I am thinking that since mine isn't going to be in a closed area that often (if at all), my chances are better to not get dust under the screen.

If there was dust under the screen when you bought it, I would definitely see if they will replace it for you. $500-830 is far too much to spend on a device with dust under the screen.

That said, my iPhone 3GS has dust under the screen...I am hoping the same doesn't happen with my iPad after a while.

I went to the Apple Store yesterday (5/23/2010) because I had some dust under my screen. 15 minutes later, they brought my phone out with a new screen and LCD (my dead pixel is gone). Oh and no more dust, or scratches.

Good to know, my 3GS has a Genius Bar appointment this Saturday and I'm hoping they will replace my screen and maybe even my rear case which has the good ole' crack next to the dock port.

If you feel it in some ways may impair your experience with the ipad, you should change it. It is my experience. My ipad had a speck of dust in the middle of the screen. It is only visible when the screen is off. When the screen is on, it is almost invisible. At first, I thought it didn't irritate me. However, after a few weeks, I can't stand it. It is like a pimple in the face of a beautiful lady.

I made a genius bar appointment, they swapped out a new ipad without any trouble.

I would suggest doing anything to get a replacement. I don't know how you have the courage to look for such things. Usually dust and dead/stuck pixels are something that you don't really notice until you really look hard, and then you can't stop seeing them. It would be enough to drive anyone crazy just knowing about it.

Do i have to bring the box and charger to get it replaced? Or do they just replace the ipad only? Also is the replacment ipad brand new Or is it a refurb in a plain white box?thanks

I would say just the iPad. That is how it was with the iPhone replacements.
