I was just wondering what makes of DVD-R disks people use, and which ones people have had trouble with as I understand that sometimes the cheaper disks can have have problems being read.

Thanks

I tend to stick with Verbatim, and occasionally use Fujifilm as well. The one brand I absolutely, positively won't buy anymore is Memorex. I've had nothing but problems with their products, including tapes, minidiscs, CD-Rs, and DVD-Rs. Never had any problems with Verbatim or Fujifilm.

I only trust Sony with all my DVD needs... from a PS2 as the primary DVD player to a Sony DVD-RW external drive. So naturally I use Sony DVD-R discs...

Verbatim and TDK are good for CDR.
Memorex just plain SUCK.
Fujifilm for DVD-R, and have had good luck with Ritek.

Ritek, Verbatim

Verbatim (the few I've tried) have been very good. But the best price/performance I've seen are Ritek Ridata branded discs. I get them cheap at Meritline.com and have had zero problems with them. I have some older TDK 4X DVD+R that are awfully good (but only at 4X).

Taiyo-Yuden

I've heard that Taiyo-Yuden are the best. I haven't tried them out yet however I plan on my next batch of DVD to be from Taiyo-Yuden. I've read that some of the other marketers use Taiyo-Yuden and put their name on it. But I'm not sure if this is true or not.
