DVD burning

Ok, so i'm a bit new to all this.. know vaguely what i'm doing, but i'm sure you all know better.

I have a DVD, and I want to make a copy of it - for my use - nothing illegal! I just want another copy of it.

I have bought this programme DVD20NE, and so far, what I have done is :

Used mac the ripper to rip the DVD, and dvd2one to compress it.

Then what do I do? I have toast.. but I was wondering what to do with the new files, to ensure i can watch on a dvd player. Is it best to use this image thing?? If so.. how do I do that?

If it's a straight single layer DVD (~4.7 GB) and you have a single layer DVD burner then Toast's DVD copy should do the trick... or if it's a dual layer disc (~9.5 GB) and you have a dl burner...

The problem occurs if you try to copy a dl disc onto a single...

So, a bit more info on the disc and your burner would be nice...

burning it in Toast, make sure it's a "UDF DVD-ROM" and make sure VIDEO/AUDIO_TS are both in the root folder.

other than that, it's pretty much how compatible your dvd-/+r's work in the stand alone players.

In Toast 5:
Click on the Other tab>DVD
Click New DVD
Name the new dvd: The name of the original dvd
drag your Video_TS folder onto the DVD
Click on Burn

You may want test your DVD before you burn it to not waste any disk:
Open up DVD Player
File> Open Video_TS folder

In Toast 6 you want to select Video>DVD Video
