DVD converting on M1 like pulling teeth

I'm looking to replace DVDfab that I've used for an eon on the intel based Macs as the M1 no longer approves use of the app to convert files for DVD, I can rip from DVD and encode or convert however.

I downloaded Wondershare but it takes like 45mins to convert an MP4 file to DVD - M1 Mac mini with 16gb ram , where as the intel i3 2020 32gb ram takes 15mins inc disc burning.

Is there any apps I can use to replace the DVDfab or Wondershare for the M1 to bring times back down to sub 15mins again ?

I kinda little let down as I was expecting a wow moment on first using but ..... oh well

Have you tried Handbrake ?

Try using MakeMKV to rip, Handbrake to encode.
