Quick question, can the DVD writer on the intel imac write to DVD-R DL or must it be DVD+R DL only? According to the specs on the apple website it reads:

Optical drive: Slot-loading 8x SuperDrive with 2.4x Dual Layer burn (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

So far it's +R only for DL (on my Intel iMac) but you might want to find someone with Toast 7 and see if that program has -R DL written for it. If not have to wait for an update I guess

Does DVD-R DL even exist? I've only seen +R DL available in stores.

yeah, but almost no one uses it. there are very few drives that can even write to it.

I used the +R DL to backup everything on my iMac and was that nice to do all on one disc for a change ;)
It's a shame that it takes stores so long to get items like that in as then you need to order it online only. Not to mention the cost is rather high and then you have to wait for a sale.
I wondered how long it would take for -R DL to come out but I think +R DL has a huge market hold that most drives won't support -R DL for some time.
