Is the encoding for dvd's burned on a pc the same as a mac?

I know its not for a CD.

Any suggestions on wht type of DVD burner to buy??

I put a Pioneer (107?) into my G4 400 and it works fine with iLife 4.

As for encoding, do you mean for data or movies?

I've never had any problems with a PC reading a DVD by just doing a data burn from the Finder.

Pioneer are always a safe bet with DVD burners for Macs.

Plus there are some kind people making firmware patching apps that work on Pioneers, something you might be out of luck on if you choose other brands.
