rjphoto macrumors 6502a Mar 7, 2005 822 0 Feb 21, 2006 #2 I put a Pioneer (107?) into my G4 400 and it works fine with iLife 4. As for encoding, do you mean for data or movies? I've never had any problems with a PC reading a DVD by just doing a data burn from the Finder.

D deebster macrumors 6502 Oct 21, 2004 276 0 Olde Englande Feb 21, 2006 #4 Pioneer are always a safe bet with DVD burners for Macs. Plus there are some kind people making firmware patching apps that work on Pioneers, something you might be out of luck on if you choose other brands.
