I had been burning large photo files to CD. I had never done this with a DVD. I wanted to look at the pics via my DVD player . . so I bought my first DVD-Rs . . at Office Depot, their brand. When I inserted one of these for burning (after selecting pics) . . the 'hamsters' kept it a while, then kicked it out . . as unacceptable I assume. The instructions for burning to DVD appear identical to using a CD, so what's the problem? Cheap DVDs ?? I'm using a 'basic' iMac G5. Thanks.

Yeah . . I guess. It's the slightly cheaper model without all the video-editing capability . . but I'm pretty sure it burns DVDs. It's got the iDVD software on it, so it's capable of working with 'simple' DVD stuff at least. (?)

what computer do you have? all macs come with idvd, it's part of the iLife package.

check apple's site under the hardware section and see what your computer has. chances are you don't have a superdrive.
