iPod DVD Ripper

Does anyone know of a good, free, DVD Ripper that will work with windows, and allow the ripped DVD to be playable on an ipod?
Help appreciated

to answer my own question (did a little google research) it appears DVD Shrink is a good dvd ripper (in case anyone else wanted to know...)

handbrake for both pc and mac, it has presets for heaps of apple devices and is really customisable. Perhaps not the best GUI on pc but it does the job
