iPod DVD Ripping and TV Shows

Hi

I have a collection of DVD movies and tv shows. I would like to rip these tv shows into INDIVIDUAL EPISODES and movies into SINGLE FILES PER MOVIE. I would also like to rip these files into a format which will fit an iPod, AppleTV, MacBook Pro, and iPhone rather than have 4 copies to fit on my 4 devices. I also have downloaded series in AVI from BitTorrent. I would like to convert these into the same format so that i can sync them with my devices. I would like to choose a similar format to what iTunes Store as their contect fits all devices without conversion..

I yet again stress the importance of having each episode as a single file..

Any help would be much appreciated....
