DVD-rom between the 15" and 17" MBP

On the track
I just noticed when looking at a picture of a 15" MBP and then a 17" MBP that the superdrive is in the a different spot. Why is that? Why did they move it? Anybody have a guess? The 15" superdrive is in the middle, BUT the 17" is at the top on the front on the case. Has anybody else noticed this?
