DVD Shrink replacement

Hello, I am trying to figure out a replacement for DVD Shrink for windows, but I am having a hard time with a new workflow.

I have been ripping the dvd's with ripit. (I also have Mac DVD Ripper Pro.)

I was using DVD2OneX, but I am having an issue where it is occasionally producing bad output iso's..... (It causes my dvd player to lose time, artifacts on the screen, I can reproduce it in the ISO output file with the apple dvd player.)

I considered DVDRemaster, but it doesn't let me select each subtitle, or force a subtitles to play, like I can in both Shrink and dvd2onex.

I found a OSX version of DVDShrink online, but I can't get it to look at a file from my external drives, it has something to do with some kind of emulation software I guess......

Any other remastering software to try?

(I want to burn and play the discs on a normal single layer dvd, so handbrake isn't really a solution.)

I own DVD2oneX and DVD Remaster Pro. I have never had the issues you mention, but I always output to a Folder not iso. Try that and see if it solves your problems, you can always put it into an iso with disk utility or Toast.

Why do you want it in an iso? I never understood that mentality.

I tried again to compress one of the titles I am having problems with (The walking dead season 1 disc 1), using dvd2onex, this time as a fileset. No change at all, same errors in the same place.

I was able to take the ripit output (same dvd, the walking dead season 1 disc 1) and run it though dvd shrink, which created a proper dvd with none of the artifacts problems.

As a side note, i ran both the outputted dvd files though handbrake. The dvd2onex output produces an 33 minute file for one episode, as it skips to the next chapter when the artifacts appear. The output from dvdshrink handbrakes to the full 44:34. This is how I am able to isolate the problem to the dvd2onex program.

I guess that's a long explanation as to why I am looking for a replacement to dvd2onex.

Any other programs to consider on the mac?

DVD Shrink for OSX

You could install something like VMWare, Oracles VirtualBox or Bootcamp your device install windows and run dvd shrink getting the bonus of having windows on your Mac.
