Mind if I piggy back this thread?
good. Yes I know how to search, and search I did for software that would allow my LaCie DVD2 to play commercial DVDs. My vendor from CDW told me it can be done but (and I'm not sure I want to believe him) a sales rep from LaCie said no. I've been able to do everything else on it burn CDs data and audio, burn DVDs, both data and movies and play them all back with no problems, using the Toast 6 that came with it, but a commercial rented DVD? No Way I'm bummed.
Am I doomed or is there something out there I missed? I've seen about 100 different little apps that say they do everything but to no avail.
