DVD stucked

Hello,
I have inserted a DVD into an external DVD player linked to my iMac with an USB cable.
When finished I have tried to eject the dvd by dragging it into the trash. The Icon has disappeared from my desktop, and the player has attempted to eject the disk, but failed.
There is no place on my device to force eject the disk.
Is there a way to do it?
iMac 21 with 10.11.1

Restart, and hold down the mouse button. This forces out removabel disks.

Alternatively, stick in a pointy thing in the edge of the drives opening. Most have a mechanic ejection mechanism there. It is usually small hole or similar.
