DVD Writer Not Recongized

I've just installed a DVD writer in the mac and it does recongized it but it says it doesnt support it. Is there a trick I can do so I can burn from the iLife suite natively?

Oh the drive is a mac compatible drive = comstar DVD +/- Writer-Dual format, double layer

If you're not running Tiger (or even if you are), your only shot is PatchBurn. Otherwise, Tiger might recognize it.

I guess I jumped the gun on this one. Once I installed Tiger it was recongized.
