Is there any way one can down load a ripped dvd from one’s personal dvd collection. I have many ripped dvd’s from my personal collection on my iMac latest operating system. I can play these dvd’s On my iMac but these dvd’s Do not show up on my iPad, iphone or Apple TV. These dvd’s do not show up in the movie library on the movie icon. I can still rip my dvd’s On my iMac. Anybody know what could be the problem.

Thanks Hal

When I want to put video files that I want to play later on my iPad I skip using the camera roll and iTunes and instead use VLC player app on the ipad itself.

Install VLC player app, fire it up and go into it’s menu. Look for sharing via WiFi and enable that. Next using a computer navigate to the IP address of your ipad in a web browser (obviously both the computer and ipad need to be on the same WiFi network). You’ll be presented with a webpage upon which you can drag and drop video files to transfer them into VLC on the ipad.

Exactly. Other players like nPlayer & Infuse support the same.

Did you connect your iPad to your iMac and sync through iTunes? In iOS, all videos now appear in the TV app - the renamed video app (it looks just like the old video app did). Stupidly, the TV app is now requiring an internet connection to see what is currently downloaded to your iPad.

I have posted a screenshot of some of my videos currently downloaded to my iPad in the TV app.

Hope this helps.
