When using dvdbackup to rip a particular movie it gives me an file system error and if i move the error box out of the way it says copying file without encryption. I have the option to continue or to quit but if i continue it does the same thing for the rest of the vob files. What should i do? Is it really decrypting everything if i just continue through all the rest of the files? A side note this is the family guy dvd 1 & 3 but it works fine with 2&4 what should i do?
Thanks,

Use Apple DVD player

Make sure you first run the DVD through Apple DVD player to authorize the Dvd/ Then you can copy it. Its as simple as that./

How long does it take to create a backup copy of a 4.7gb DVD using a Superdrive (assuming 4x). I'm looking for total time - time to rip the DVD (normal 4.7gb) and then burn that data to disc. Thanks!

How Long?

Well, with my mac it takes about 30-45mins to rip the DVD in DVDbackup. Then it takes about a half hour in DVD2one. Then from there another 45 minutes in Toast to burn. I am running a 1x superdrive. So with mine, it takes 2-3 hours to make a DVD. I consider that not bad at all. In your case, depending on your system. It can take between 1 and half hours to 2 hours. Since you have that 4x burner.
