So I was playing with Handbrake, and wanted to try ripping and enocoding a DVD... but it wouldn't recognize anything. So I tried to just play the movie back with the plain ol' DVD player, and it says that the disc is not supported. It's a regular, store-bought DVD. I read somewhere that you have to / can change the region, etc, but my computer never prompted me to set one let alone change it.

Any suggestions?

The drive reads the OSX install dvd just fine, and I burned a few DL-DVD's the other day successfully, so I dont think the drive itself is broken...

I had that happen two weeks ago.

I didn't do anything except give up for a couple days. Then it started working again.
