yeah thx. I never thought of looking in the application folder. i was looking in the dock. lol thx. sorry for the noob question

Their's many more apps in the application folder. Get used to it :p Just remember that you can drag DVD player app to the dock to have a 'shortcut' if you want to.

Also, you can add the Applications folder to the dock (on the right side of the "separator"). Then, just click-and-hold on its icon and it'll open up a nice navigable menu for you.

Exactly. That's one of the many great things about OS X - it's so user-friendly and intuitive - and customizable in this respect. Sometimes things are so simple, you get caught up looking for a more complicated way of doing something! ;) :D
