I've just got handbrake, and I've chosen the iPhone profile to convert a DVD. I've not changed any of the settings, and it's taking over 14 hours to do on my 1.8ghz G5 with 1.5gb RAM! Is this right? Not got 2-pass on or anything. 128k Audio, etc.

I just stopped it after about 30 mins, to see what the quality was like on my iPhone - and it's ok, but not worth waiting 15 hours for! It's watchable, but still a bit blocky in some sections, particularly the backgrounds.

What am I doing wrong? I'd like a movie that's awesome quality, with no blockiness...ideally under 500mb in size, that doesn't take so long to process! The mp4 will only be played on my iPhone btw.

Can anyone help please?

I have not had any issues with Handbrake. The only thing I change is the screen resolution to 320 x 240. That takes about an hour to complete.

I did not even know there was a iPhone profile
