i just upgraded my tibook to tiger, and am still running DVDSP 1.5/FCP 3- i know these aren't officially supported on tiger, but i've got everything running fine except one thing-

seems tiger killed the mpeg2 encoder from FCP/DVDSP, and at the same time killed my ability to build discs with DVDSP. anyone know of a workaround to this until i pick up the upgrade to the current FC studio? i bought a quicktime 7 pro key, but no dice. any suggestions?

About the only thing I can think of is to maybe re-install QT 6.5 (in addition to QT7). The sad part is that my systems survived the transition with the MPEG-2 component intact. For some undefined reason a number of us are running FCP5 on Tiger and still have independent MPEG-2 encoding, others don't. Go figure.

i figured out a way to encode mpeg2 tracks by using idvd (of all things), which seems to work fine. my big problem now is not being able to make a dvd image using the program i wrote for dvdsp.

i may have to partition my hd and install jaguar on one of the partitions, but that's like half a days work with all the stuff i'd have to shuffle around. boo.
