dvi to component

1. what is the use for this type of cable !?

I tried to use it to connect my MBP to my sharp LCD, but the LCD TV said signal not usable.

so after research, i see I need a VGA to component, and use my DVI to VGA adapter that comes with the MBP.

2. is it possible to use the DVI to Component cable without the adapter, to a TV of any kind ?

Just used that cable tonight to watch a movie at a friends LCD tv (apple DVI to component and then a scart into the LCD tv) and I always use it at home to watch xvid movies on my tv (component in); works just fine so I guess you're doing something wrong...

its because the TV you used accepts DV input.


did you use the adapter that comes with the mac ?
