so i was wondering if anyone has tried or if it was possible to take from a dvi out computer to a hdtv through the hdmi port? i was thinking about getting a hdtv but i also wanted to use my computer with it. and the only input other then component and s-video was the hdmi port. would be cool if it worked...

what is overscan... i am new to this dvi thing and hdtv

overscan is a left-over annoyance from the days of CRTs. It seems that most if not all LCD TVs expect overscan, even on DVI/HDMI inputs. This means that even if you send a perfect DVI signal to the TV it will scale it to be slightly smaller (or larger with overscan on on the Mac) that the visible area. It sucks. I'd recomend a Google search before purchasing.
