hi,
i recently bought one of these vga - svideo adaptors in the hope that it would enable me to use my crt as a screen to watch movies on from my MBP.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SVGA-VGA-to-R...4740107QQihZ007QQcategoryZ61395QQcmdZViewItem

i connected the apple supplied dvi - vga adaptor to my mbp, and then the vga to svideo adaptor through an s video cable to the tv. system preferences detect that there is a vga monitor attached, but no picture comes up on the crt tv. is there a way to get this to work, or do i need the apple dvi - svideo connector?

many thanks

Not sure why you didn't buy the DVI-S-video adapter to begin with but whatever. Go to your System Prefs>Displays, your CRT should have its own settings in there. If not, then perhaps you can't use 2 adapters to connect your VGA. As soon as you plug it in the CRT should turn on.
