Dye an Egg Yolk Green?

Hello,

My close friend is shooting a music video and he's assigned me a tough art direction task. He wants a shot of a sunny side up egg, but the yolk is green. And very much like the visual in Andalusian Dog ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8UEuephbyE ), he wants the yolk to be cut open and the yolk to spill green out.

I'm considering a couple options right now. Many of them utilize a syringe. Which leads me to a second question, how easy is it to buy a syringe?

If its an image, would it not be easier to do it in Photoshop?

Well it'd be a video, not a still image. We considered doing it in post, which we will do in a worst case scenario, but we want to go old school and keep it all real Special Effects.

So you need the egg intact?

you could replace the yolk with a similar consistency green fluid

or add blue dye to yolk

has to be very fine needle though so it does not leak.

syringes are easy to get, go to local pharmancy ask for diabetic insulin needles.
