Dying?

So I re-installed my computer today on a 15'' June 2006 MacBook Pro. I like to do a clean install before I start a new year of school. Everything's going fine. Then I'm surfing through firefox and I get a kernel panic. This is worrisome, so I restart my computer...and it has kernel panic after kernel panic after kernel panic. NO matter how many times I restart it, during the time when the apple pops up when it's turning on it has a kernel panic attack.

As of right now, I'm completely reinstalling it. I'm really kind of freaking out because I start school in a few weeks and I can't afford to be without computer. I don't know what's wrong, and that scares me the most.

1. What is Apple probably going to ask me tomorrow when I call them?

Insert your Install CD and run an Apple Hardware Test. If that turns up nothing and you're still having issues, download a Linux LiveCD and try to use that and see if the problem is software or hardware.

If it is a hardware problem and you have two sticks of RAM in there, remove one and test it. if it works, then the RAM you removed was probably faulty. if it doesn't work, test the other piece of RAM.

I reinstalled and it seems fine, so hopefully it can last until saturday, which is the absolute earliest I can get to my super far apple store

I did a hardware test prior to reinstalling and it came up clean.
