Has anyone ever used this?

I'm surprised Apple still offers this as an option on iOS10. No one ever uses them, and Apple has not added any new ones in the last 2-3 years. It's kinda like Dashboard, or DVD player on macOS... Remnants from an old age...

Do you perhaps have a link to me to some stats showing nobody using it? Or is it just an assumption? I look around me and I see a wide variety of live backgrounds, dynamic, perspective, etc. But that's just personal use. I rather have some stats to read up on. Am hoping that's where you get your data from.

Live Photos kinda replaces the "dynamic wallpaper" idea. So it's not surprising that there hasn't been any additions to them.

We now have a bunch of stock 3D Touch wallpapers and can add/make your own with a Live Photo.

I just guessed no one uses them.

I don't know a single person who has ever used them. Also, the fact that Apple isn't supporting it by either allowing third party dynamic wallpapers or adding more themselves suggests that no one uses them.

I wish they animated on raise to wake :( I don't use otherwise, I never see them so they feel a tad pointless.

User-taken photos is the greatest source of "dynamic wallpapers", in Live Photos form.

Talking about it, I am afraid Apple would never put attention into it after introducing Live Photos. Plus the style of dynamic wallpaper is monotonous.

I constantly have Live Photos as my wallpapers. Fun to be able to see a certain moment from the lock screen, but that's just me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Animation on raise to wake would be perfect though

I personally don't see the point of using them. They come alive only when you hard-press the screen which is a bit daft I think.

I completely agree. It was really more of a gimmick than anything. I'd like to see some nice dynamic wallpapers, but the issue there (like most cool things in tech) is battery drain. A good compromise would be nathanalf's suggestion to use the raise to wake function as an initiator for the live photo animation.

What a valuable contribution to the forum.

No, those are Live Wallpapers, completely different from Dynamic Wallpapers.
