Dysfunctional Superdrive?

So My Superdrive has been acting weird these past 2 weeks.

The first problem I noticed is when it wouldn't play dvd's

And today I tried burning a dvd, first through iDvd and then manually, and both ways didn't work.

But heres the thing, it still plays and burns Cd's

So I don't know what the problem is.

If any of you know what's going on it would help.

Otherwise I'm just making a genius bar appointment.

I would send a dysfunctional Superdrive to the nearest MD and/or psychoanalyst.

I would seek competent technical assistance (it would seem that at least a small percentage of Apple 'geniuses' are competent) for such a malfunctioning Superdrive.
