Yes, I have the Apple Mail app set to push the e-mails with both audible and text notifications... but they don't download and appear until I unlock the phone and enter the app. For instance the last time I opened the app it said the last update was 20 minutes ago when there were e-mails waiting to be downloaded. This is a real problem these days awaiting covid vaccine availability notifications from sources that use e-mail and not SMS. The appointments are gone before I even see the e-mails. Is there a fix for this? or do I need use a different app? Oh, the e-mail account in question is Comcast set to imap.

The iOS Mail app doesn't get IMAP email pushed and that's the only way to set up a Comcast account in Mail.

You could set up your comcast.net email in the "Xfinity Connect" app…it gets push notifications.

Alternately, you could enter your "email to SMS" email address (my verizon one is myphonenumber@vtext.com) where you're registered…to get an instant SMS.

Or, you could set up a rule at your comcast.net webmail interface to "Redirect to" (forward) to your "email to SMS" email address when one of those alert messages comes in.

Interesting... But I am not seeing a way to port an e-mail or notification from Xfinity webmail to SMS. I can make a rule for the sender easy enough and there is a redirect option... but I don't know what format to put in there for SMS... or even if that is possible. I see nothing on Xfinity support but found a site that says Xfinity might be able to do this via vtext.com... but no idea how to format it. I tried vtext.com/"my mobile phone number" and that was invalid. The redirect field in webmail looks like this:

The email to SMS address depends on your carrier. My carrier uses the Verizon network so the email address would be 3335551212@vtext.com if my phone number was 333-555-1212.

This website has a list of the email to SMS formats:

I also have Verizon and that format did the trick. At least I have established the rule and it was accepted. Hopefully that will work when a message comes in from this sender. Thanks for the assist!
