Hey all,

so i just downloaded the new 2.0 firmware from the TUAW link and wanted to do the manual update. But when i hold down ctrl&option and try to select the firmware zip file manually the file is greyed out and i can't select it (this is for both, update & restore with manual option)

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

Let me know, thanks!

you need to remove the '.zip' extension on the file and leave the ispw(?) bit and it will then be found.

Hey there!

The problem is that iphone firmware isn't a zip file, but it's easily solved (for some reaosn, some people's files show up as .zip.)

If you go to the film and rename it. Only rename the extension though. Replace '.zip' with '.ipsw'. You should be golden to restore as you were trying to in itunes then.
Hope this helps!
