Early 2008 IMac Audio Mojave

I am building a 2008 Imac for a customer. I am running latest version of the patch tool This is the 24 inch version and no mater what I do the Audio sounds like crap and I can not control the volume. I have also installed this same version on a 20inch version of 8,1 and everything seams to work fine. Is there any work around that I am not catching? The patch updater says everything is up top date. I have installed Mojave on this machine now 5 times and all the same issue. Any Ideas? Please help , I promised this to my customer by the weekend. Thanks
