Early 2008 MacPro GPU compatibility

I've got an early 2008 Mac Pro(3,1) running 10.9 and the video card is buggin out and it seems to be time for a replacement.

Can anyone tell me if Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 6850 will be compatible?

I think it should, but all the info I could find about replacements was a little out of date, or out of my price range.

Looking to spend no more then $200 if there are any others worth checking out I'm all ears.

The computer does long hours of Photoshop work, and has been running an ATI Radeon HD 2600 xt 256mb, so any sort of an upgrade from that should be fine, but I don't need anything super fancy.

There's a few Radeon 5870 on ebay, even an apple one, which is what I have in my 2008 MP.

It's not that the 6850 won't work, it is that you can buy a much better card for the same money.
