Hello

I have an early 2009 Mac Pro. After installing Yosemite, things were fine until about a week and then the whole system got really slow and unresponsive. I did an SMC reset (shut down, unplug, wait, replug, boot) and all was well again. Three or four more days later, same issue. SMC reset worked just fine...for another three or four days.

This seems to continue to recur.

Anyone else? Any ideas?

If that's all you're doing, that's not a SMC reset. Here are the instructions for resetting the SMC.

If you're having performance issues, this may help:

From that document...

Resetting the SMC for Mac Pro, Intel-based iMac, Intel-based Mac mini, or Intel-based Xserve
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord.
Wait fifteen seconds.
Attach the computer's power cord.
Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.

So..what am I missing?
