I know...very generic topic but..

This machine has been sitting for over a year without a start...yesterday tried to start..machine fires up..nothing to screen ( cinema display) more importantly and no chime...video card fan spins up..

tried new battery...tried removing 3/4 OWC ram simms..tried NVRAM reset although no keyboard access.

Still no chime.any input appreciated

Possible CPU tray or logic board, and it's hard to diagnosis without spare parts to test.

I do have one..what's the reasoning ?

Just from sitting ?...maybe I should have unplugged it ?

what gpu is it?
what version of osx?

might be worth doing SMC reset by unplugging the power cord for 15secs +

then pram reset

also worth doing a boot holding 'alt' to see if there's a valid boot drive (maybe the HD is dead)

also is some time's it's something simple is the display cable in correct, try a different video out from the gpu or different display cable if you have a spare.

edit
also might be worth pulling out then re-inserting the HD's for luck
