So guys, how well does mountain lion run on an Early 2011 15" MBP? Do you think it would be good to pick up on release day or just wait a bit?

Thank you in Advance :)

The Early 2011 15" MBP is on the list of supported Macs for Mountain Lion.

I installed the Gold Master on such a MBP. Because of Mountain Lion has the same requirements as Lion it runs very fast and smooth :)

is it somewhat faster than lion? i felt if lion dragged my Mac a little bit more especially in boot up.

I was considering a SSD, but economically cant at the moment, because i have windows 7 on another partition that i need. Thank you so much :)

ML GM runs fine on my 2009 Core2Duo - no lags on video either, Lion or Mt. Lion were both fine. Compared with the quad-core 2011 this is an old machine, with much less powerful CPU and GPU too. Maybe you have some other issue causing that?

I've installed GM on MacBook Pro 2011, with SSD and 16 GIG ram. was running very smooth. However, i didn't like a couple of minor things while not really getting a true benefit, so after one day i went back to 10.7.4 ...
