Shelled out on a WQHD UltraWide 21:9 aspect monitor to use with my PC but also my early 2011 MacBook Pro which has a Thunderbolt port which I currently use with an HDMI converter cable to drive my current 24" monitor.

The 21:9 monitor has a plethora of inputs - HDMI, DVI, Thunderbolt and DisplayPort. Just wondering which of these would best utilise my MBP's display output? Will my current HDMI output allow me to drive it at full display resolution/aspect ratio? Or should I buy a Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt cable and go in that way?
