Has anyone jumped in early and bought a SR MBP?

If so, is it reliable? Are there any issues to look out for?

I baught my 2.4Ghz version yesterday. So far so good. Oh, did I tell you this machine is FAST! :D (I had Powerbook G4 1.5Ghz before)

I just read about someone having kernel panic issues. I think it had something to do with his airport.

Have you used yours with the airport yet?

I picked mine up today and absolutley no sign of any problems to report. Wireless is fine (once I remembered to add the mac address to my routers allow list, D'oh!) and no sign of any kernal panics. Machine feels solid, no loose or flexing parts and the screen is so bright at max you need shades just to look at it!

In a few days

I bought mine BTO. I upgraded the HD to 160GB. It is expected to arrive by the 13th. I will definitely add my impressions then, but they will be old news at that time.

I am so excited to get my hands on this beautiful piece of machinery.

There are A LOT more people who bought it than haven't

How I read this was:

Of the people who post here and were seriously considering buying the SR MBP, it seems that many people have gone ahead and purchased, more so than have in the past, regardless of being an "early adopter".

:D

I'll be getting one sometime this week, and it will be the first Mac that I buy with a major new feature (the LED screen) before revision 2, because I am just too anxious. I've been waiting for two months to get a new Mac, and was going to get an iMac, until I heard the news about the updated MBP. They had me at 2GB RAM... The LED display and SR, along with the 256MB Nvidia card, pushed me over the edge.

I am using the old Airport Extreme and it works fine. I am using it as 802.11g only. And the connection is FASTER then my old G4 Powerbook.

My MBP is kernel panicking when connected to a WPA2 secured wifi network. I got through to tier 2 apple support and they're working the problem (how cool, a personal team of engineers working MY problem) and i should know more about it monday. It happened on the MBP i bought the day it was released (2.4ghz stock) and on the exchange mbp i received the next day when I returned the first one. Otherwise, it's fabulous and fast.
