EarPods 2, IOS 18, and Answering the iPhone.

So, I bought the EarPods 2 today so that I can answer my iPhone with the nod of my head, which was proclaimed at the WWDC 2024. I have developed vertigo from numerous attempts to get the phone to answer, but it does not work. I am hoping this gets fixed simply because I bike trail and this would come in handy.

Also, the icons on my Home Screen don't work independently, they still fix to the grid.

Just to be clear it's not available for AirPods 2, it's for AirPods Pro 2. Have you installed the beta to the AirPods?

I have bought the AirPods Pro 2nd generation. I checked and I have the latest firmware for this.

As well as having the beta of iOS 18 on your phone, you would also need to download and install Xcode if you don't have it, and then the beta firmware onto the AirPods Pro 2.

Even then, with both being in early beta, it's possible it won't work well (or at all) just yet. Neither goes live until (probably) September.

This feature isn't available until later this year..
