Easier way of manipulating the Mac version of a "System Tray"

Sorry, still haven't adopted the Apple lingo. Hell, I don't even know what most of thsoe characters are for keyboard shortcuts. Like the one that looks like a lambda on its side? But, I digress:

I turned off my clock to trick myself earlier, but now that I have reactivated it, the upper right corner is in a pattern that does not please me. It isnt' a serious problem at all, but, if there's a way of manipulating all of those Mac tray icons without having to turn them all off and reactivating them in a certain order, that'd be great. As of now, it goes: Volume, Battery, Clock, and AirPort. I wish for it to go Volume, Airport, Battery, Clock. Any takers?

You should be able to Command-Drag them (Command==Apple Key).

By the way, just for the lingo side of it, that entire bar is called the menu bar, and those icons are called generally called "status menus"
