Carrier Easiest and fastest way to switch carriers and preorder?

Forgive me if this has been asked. Used the google and found old info. I’m currently with AT&T and wanting to switch to Verizon. However, am wanting the plus version of the X. What would be the easiest way to go about doing this? Would I have to wait until pre-order opens and go to verizon’s site to open 3 new lines? I am one of those impatient ones that want a new phone at launch. Thanks in advance!

Usually you would go to your new service provider to pre-order, and select an option for coming from x carrier and that you want to port over your phone # and then the magic happens in the background. I did that a few years back when i got my iPhone 7+ on VZW coming from ATT.
