I have a Sirius satellite radio and the home kit to listen in my house. At home, I have my radio connected to my stereo system with a headphone jack to RCA adapter.

I'm headed back to college Sunday and won't have a stereo with me, just my PowerMac. I got a cable to connect the radio to my PowerMac's line in, and using Audio Hijack, I can listen to the line in through the Mac's speakers. This works great, except Audio Hijack seems like overkill for what I'm doing. I'm not recording, just merley using my PowerMac's speakers to listen. Is there another program, or a way on the OS, to pass the audio through to the speakers? Thanks

Try this: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/detour/legacy/

It's free now as well.

You want to use the crappy little internal speaker on your Mac to listen to music? Why not get some external speakers?

Should have made it clearer. I do have external speakers. I just dont want to plug them directly into the Sirius unit because I want other sound effects (new mail, IM, ect) to come through as well (and occasionally, I use headphones and want music+sounds to come through)

How do I set up Detour to send the line-in to the default output? It seems to only work with apps

I'm not sure. I've never tried the app actually. I just remember seeing it and what you wanted seems similar. I guess it wasn't close enough. Maybe check the RogueAmoeba site for something else that might work. They have a few other audio related apps.

The LineIn program on the same Rogue Amoeba page is the one you want. Don't be thrown off by the mention of Audio Hijack, it can work alone. Line in or mic straight out to the speakers by default.

Thanks, it works great
