Hey guys, I'm struggling a bit right now so wanted to ask for advice.

Does anyone have experience formatting an SD Card from Fat32 to EXT4 on an M1 Mac? All that I'm finding are guides for Windows and tutorials for AOMEI Partition Assistant, but neither of them are an option for me right now. AOMEI is not supported on Mac at all.

I ordered my kid a Steam Deck, it's coming in a month or so, and until it's here I wanted to pre-build the SD card for him (so that I don't have to spend the first 24 hours with an impatient kid waiting for all the games to download). The problem is that the Steam Deck is only reading EXT4, and since it's running on a Linux distro, I was hoping that it would be easier to manage this on a Mac than on a Windows computer.

I found this Steam Deck Micro SD guide stating that it's easily doable and the cards are hot swappable, I got the 512 GB PNY, which should be more than enough for him.

I'm just not that sure how I'll get the games, but that's the second step, first its the SD Card.

Thank you.
