Easiest way to transfer iTunes library, pictures from Win to iMac?

I assume I could either get a large USB stick to transfer my iTunes library, pictures, etc from my Windows to iMac, but what is the easiest way to go about this?

I have a few external hard drives connected to my PC but my understanding is I will not be able to transfer the data off the drives to the iMac, due to the current formatting of the drives.

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

1) Get external HDD
2) format to that one format that is compatible with both Windows and Mac (forget the name, but it exists, trust me)
3) move files to the HDD
4) Plug the HDD in in macOS. Move files to macOS.
