Look to the left of the mountain on the right. You can see the Yosemite shaped mountain peeking out. Correct me if I'm wrong but i think that it is the Yosemite wallpaper back there. Interesting :)
Post other interesting things you find in El Capitan if you'd like.
Cheers,
Adam

I'm not sure if it's an easter egg. Unless I'm not seeing what you're talking about. The wallpapers are very similar because they are pictures from the same national park.

No there if you look in the background you can see Yosemite, i just found it interesting. They did say El Capitan was just a better Yosemite so thats probably why.

Everything in both images is Yosemite National Park. The OS X 10.10 default desktop is Half Dome, which is indeed in the background of the 10.11 El Capitan image.

Don't think I could call the fact that Yosemite is behind El Capitan an easter egg. Just a fact...
I mean they could have done another angle to hide that bit of Yosemite, but I think they did it because El Capitan is a improved Yosemite.

Adam

How about I show you a real easter egg (non-specific to El Cap)?

Go to terminal, type emacs, press esc, pres x, type snake, hit return. You're welcome! :p

P.S.: You can type doctor instead of snake and see what happens.

I still don't understand what is so easter eggy about it. El Capitan is a mountain in the Yosemite park. Yes, he wallpapers are quite smart. But I think the OP is confusing Yosemite for a particular mountain.

Its not really an easter egg... both are well known packages that have been distributed with Emacs basically since forever. The doctor one is particularly nice as it is a reimplementation of the famous ELIZA program which is taken by many to be one of the first AI-like programs (able to maintain a conversation with a human) ever written. It goes back to mid 60-ties!

I know that the mountains are separate. What I dont understand is why everyone is being so rude to me about pointing this out.
Cheers,
Adam
