Easy Mode for Camera App?

Is there an easy mode for Camera? I've been trying to take some pics of the assembly above my clutch pedal and every gesture or bump I end up in a different mode. Example.... I stick it down there, try to position, and glance at the screen. I've activated Reachability and switched to Pano mode. I just want to stick it up there, let it auto focus, and take a picture.

Maybe I need a 3rd party app? Or maybe it's time to get a new car.

I don’t really get the geometry of this. How do you end up touching the display? You don’t really need to be able to see the screen to take a pic, you can use the volume button.

If it’s enough to not save a picture but just lock the screen with an image you could also try the accessibility zoom-camera. It’s sort of like an easy move camera, having only zoom slider and a “lock image” button which is essentially like taking a picture that just is deleted whenever you move on.

Sounds like you are trying to take a picture under the dash -- while you are driving?
Get someone to do this from the front passenger seat. That might be less exciting for you, but doable.

I don’t car words, so if that really is what the OP was trying it sounds like that could be slightly dangerous to try alone, so yeah what you’re saying should definitely be done instead. I thought it was like parked trying to get the phone camera in with the engine under the bonnet or something
