Is there an app of script that I can use to easily "reset networks" and "Airplane mode" on my Mac running OS X 10.10? I like how easy it is on my iPhone.
For ‘airplane mode’, what you can do is create another network location. In System Preferences > Network > Location: Edit Locations… Add a new one (you can call it “Airplane Mode” if you like), select that location and click on “Done”. Now you see the network services for that location. Just delete all services from the list and click on “Apply”. When you switch between the locations, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (PAN and DUN) will be turned off automatically (and re-enabled when you go back to your default location). You can access your locations quickly by clicking on in the menu bar and then selecting “Location”. Bluetooth can be switched off in the menu bar as well. That’s probably as easy as it gets.
Regarding ‘reset networks’, there is no equivalent. What do you want to reset? You can remove known Wi-Fi networks manually in System Preferences > Network > Advanced… –*this will also remove the Wi-Fi passwords in Keychain. Alternatively, you can remove the entire services list here as well, which should take care of your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VPN, Proxy, etc. settings. You can then start from scratch by re-adding these services one by one. You can’t do these things on iOS, which is why the Reset Network Settings function exists.
