I just imported songs from my other computer into itunes. I already had some of the same songs on both computers. So now after importing i have duplicates from the songs that were on both computers. I don't want to go through all these songs and delete the ones that are duplicated. Can i use automator or something to find the duplicated songs and delete them?

thanks

I'm pretty sure iTunes has a "Show Duplicate Entries" option.

You will still have to delete them manually that way.
I've tried one applescript myself to delete duplicates, but it still needed "manual interference" to delete.
There must be a more elegant solution.

I'd rather delete them manually if iTunes identifies what it thinks are duplicates.

Some of them might be the same song by the same artist but one is acoustic, another might be remixed and one is the original. I'd much rather see them and decide whether to delete some than have iTunes do it for me and lose some classics!
